Sempervivum is a plant of the genus Sempervis in the family Tennantaceae. It is a medicinal plant with the function of drying dampness and resolving phlegm, lowering rebelliousness and stopping vomiting, eliminating boils and swellings in raw use, and is used by veterinarians to treat Phenomenon lockjaw. It is widely distributed in the Yangtze River basin, northeast China and north China. It is also distributed in Tibet and grows at an altitude of about 3000m.
