Dried perilla leaf description

Perilla can be used for medicinal and spice purposes. It is mainly used in the stem, leaves and seeds. The leaves are sweating, cough suppressant, aromatic stomachic and diuretic, analgesic, sedative and antidote for colds; the stalk has the function of calming the air and calming the fetus; the seeds can suppress cough, expectorant, calm asthma and dispel the dullness of the spirit. The leaves are also for consumption, and cooked with meat can increase the aroma of the latter. The oil extracted from the seeds, called soursop oil, is for consumption and is also antiseptic and used for industrial purposes.

Active Ingredients

Perilla leaves and stalks contain active ingredients such as perilla ketones, rosmarinic acid, and luteolin.
