Pure Asian white ginseng root is artificially cultivated, and its medicinal value is lower than that of wild ginseng. Length:10 to 20 cm with yellowish white surface, slightly the same shape as wild ginseng, but mostly straight body, slightly longer than red ginseng, with scattered fibrous roots, short and especially brittle.

White ginseng is made from four to six years old fresh ginseng, peeled and dried naturally by sunlight or hot wind, with a slightly white yellow color, which is superior in terms of large pieces, long reed, beautiful body, fine skin and tender yellow or brown color.Wanliang Town, Fusong County, Jilin, is the largest ginseng trading market in China.

In the Standard for Ginseng Commodity, the number of pieces per 500g of full-bearded raw ginseng is divided into 6 specifications, such as 20, 32, 48, 64, 80 and small goods, etc. The Arabic numeral in the name of each specification means: the maximum number of pieces allowed per 500g of common red ginseng (evenly sized, not allowed to use small as big or big as small). The Difference Between White And Red Ginseng

Ginseng is broadly divided into red ginseng and white ginseng (raw and sun-dried ginseng) according to the processing method. Initially, raw ginseng was processed into red ginseng for long-term preservation purposes.

However, with the development of various technologies, the difference between red ginseng and white ginseng began to show its difference gradually.

1. Processing and manufacturing:

White ginseng is made by drying water ginseng (raw ginseng) directly. Red ginseng is made by steaming water ginseng (75% moisture) or white ginseng (12% moisture) under certain process conditions.

2. Physical properties:

Compared with white ginseng, red ginseng has a dense and firm content, and good storage properties. Red ginseng is generally valid for 10 years, while white ginseng is about 2 years.

3. Composition:

Red ginseng and white ginseng have common ingredients. In the process of steaming, red ginseng will undergo chemical reaction and change in composition due to heat treatment. G-Rh2 and Panaxytriol have the effect of inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, and malto1 has the effect of antioxidant.

4. Efficacy:

Including the antioxidant activity related to the inhibition of aging, the effect of improving blood circulation, the effect of increasing the anti-cancer activity of anti-cancer agents, and the pharmacological activity of animal growth and development, red ginseng is superior to white ginseng.
